因為在寫「Layla」時，Pattie Boyd仍未與George Harrison 離婚。

發現Pattie Boyd真得還滿漂亮，尤其是二十歲的時候。

Eric Clapton在寫「Wonderful tonight」的心情就完全不同，因為在過了
幾年後，他與Pattie Boyd終於結為連理。故連等待Pattie Boyd打扮時候，
心情上也是喜悅的。雖然最後他們兩人還是以離婚收場。不過難得的是
George Harrison 與Eric Clapton的友情仍是走得長長久久。
而Eric Clapton 2005年出的一張專輯「Back Home」，也有收錄已逝
George Harrison 的作品。
這首曲子在西方，常被用來當結婚典禮時的音樂。
